Behind the screen: Commercial sex, digital spaces and working online is a collaborative article in Technology in Society written by the core researchers on the Beyond the Gaze research project including Matt Valentine-Chase. Looking at how digital technology influences professional sex workers in their working lives, the context of commercial sex and sharing some of the findings from the three year study, the largest study to date (Beyond the Gaze) into the online sex industry, working practices and regulation. Internet Sex Work - Palgrave Pivot

This book takes readers behind the screen to uncover how digital technologies have affected the UK sex industry. The authors use extensive new datasets to explore the working practices, safety and regulation of the sex industry, for female, male and trans sex workers primarily working in the UK. Insights are given as to how sex workers use the internet in their everyday working lives. Written by the researchers from the Beyond the Gaze research project.
